In addition to a selection of traditional gamelan music from Indonesia, this concert will present two contemporary works by Atlantic Canadian composers – the world premiere of India Gailey’s Hujan Badai, and the 2010 work by Peter Togni, Lux Aeterna (for gamelan and six-voice choir).

A one-hour late-night meditative improvisation presented in the beautiful resonance of Acadia University’s Manning Chapel. The musicians will be intentionally hidden from view, in order to create a more immersive listening experience. India Gailey, cello; Heidi Kalyani, drones and percussion; Ken Shorley, hand drums and percussion.

Marianne, a physicist, and Roland, a beekeeper, meet, meet again and then again. Their relationship exists in multiverse as every action will affect the outcome of their life and love together. Marianne and Roland’s story moves through space, exploring the infinite possibilities of our choices. Constellations is a unique, smart and tender story about love, fate, and honeybees.
